A historical stage for modern life
Schloss Eller is a stately home with a long history that was first documented as a castle in late medieval times. IDR AG took the listed building complex over from the City of Düsseldorf on a leasehold basis and then extensively refurbished and modernised the main building in compliance with monument protection legislation. The very latest heating, electrical and fire protection technology was installed and the building now has wheelchair access and a lift. The stately neoclassical home reopened in 2010 with resplendent, renovated rooms and salons, conference rooms with state-of-the-art conferencing technology, a rustic vaulted cellar and prestigious foyer. Thanks to IDR’s revitalisation project, Schloss Eller now boasts stylish function rooms for events with up to 600 guests over an area of 1,000 m2, plus some 2,400 m2 of outdoor facilities. The former forester’s lodge has also been completely renovated. The ground floor is now home to a local history museum and the upper floor houses offices.
