A stunning example of architecture at the heart of Düsseldorf
The completion of the Kö-Bogen development in winter 2013 provided Düsseldorf city centre with a new centrepiece. Kö-Bogen is the brainchild of famous architect and designer Daniel Libeskind and it has already become an internationally famous architectural icon at the heart of this regional capital city. The Kö-Bogen features a striking facade made of glass and white natural stone, cut open by diagonal slashes or “cuts” on the north and west sides of the ensemble. A tunnel was also built underneath the Kö-Bogen to improve the inner city traffic situation. IDR AG assumed project management functions – via its former affiliate IDR Public Management (IPM) – and was also responsible for vendor and client control.
